A small freshwater lake in Cook County, Illinois, between the cities of Park Forest and Chicago Heights, is known as Sauk Trail Lake (also known as Sauk Trail Lake). It is an extended section of Thorn Creek that was made possible by a dam on the south side of the lake’s northern border, 26th Street. Sharp sandstone bluffs encircle it on the east and west sides. The Sauk Trail Woods Forest Preserve encompasses it.
